Job Description
About the Role
Deutsche Bahn has many vital professions requiring specialized knowledge. Therefore, we focus on individuals who want to reorient and develop professionally.
You will undergo a tailored internal training program that supports you on your path to becoming a Signal Mechanic. During this time, you will further develop your competencies and acquire extensive knowledge for your new role.
We are looking for you as a Signal Mechanic (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG in Pforzheim or Vaihingen an der Enz, starting as soon as possible. As part of a qualification program, you will initially start as a skilled worker in the area of control and safety technology. Over the first 18 months, you will go through several development stages until you reach the target position of Signal Mechanic. Even beyond this, you can continue your professional development.
What You'll Do During Your Qualification
- You are responsible for the maintenance of a variety of different systems in the field of control and safety technology, with a focus on inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components, e.g., signals, switches, level crossings.
- Using modern measuring devices, you will record and evaluate the condition of systems and be responsible for technical documentation.
- You will generally perform tasks in your regional area independently and reliably as part of a team.
- Your workday begins and ends daily at your central base in Vaihingen (Enz).
- You will complete our internal qualification program, regularly attend further training courses, and continuously learn.
Your Profile
- You have successfully completed training in electrical engineering, e.g., as an electrician, mechatronics technician, industrial electrical specialist, electronics technician for industrial operations, or automation technology.
- After comprehensive training, you are ready to participate in rotating on-call duty (every 4-5 weeks).
- You don't mind working outdoors, as many of our systems are located in the track area.
- You consistently work reliably, are a team player, and flexible.
- A valid Class B driver's license is an advantage.
Applications from already trained Signal Mechanics and Switch Mechanics are, of course, also welcome.
What Deutsche Bahn Offers
- You receive up to 16 free trips within Germany per year and further travel benefits for your friends and family.
- You always give your best and therefore get a lot back: a market-standard salary package, generally indefinite employment contracts and job security, as well as various fringe benefits and a company pension scheme.
- With seminars, training, and qualifications, we offer you individual and long-term development and promotion opportunities at specialist, project, or management levels.
