Overview

Desjardins Group is offering a Data Internship Winter 2026 to support its data strategy and improve member and client experiences through advanced data initiatives. The internship offers exposure to various areas: information analytics, advanced analytics, machine learning engineering (MLOPS), data governance, and ETL development.

Roles and Responsibilities

Information Analytics (Business Intelligence):

  • Deepen understanding of members and clients via data analysis.
  • Develop reports and visualizations to support decision making.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for internal partners.

Advanced Analytics:

  • Explore and develop innovative AI methodologies and products.
  • Research synthetic data, generative models, and multimodal language models.
  • Monitor AI trends and adoption within Desjardins Group.

Machine Learning Engineering (MLOPS):

  • Collaborate with data scientists and IT experts in multidisciplinary squads.
  • Design, deploy, and monitor machine learning and AI systems.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and maintain APIs and SDKs.

Data Governance:

  • Document metadata in the governance catalogue.
  • Prepare content for metadata templates and update databases.
  • Assist advisors in classifying metadata securely.

ETL Internship:

  • Design, develop, and automate applications for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

What You Bring To The Table

Your educational institution must credit this internship toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Fluency in French is required. Candidates should have knowledge in object-oriented programming, tools like Tableau and Power BI, SAS, SQL, machine learning algorithms and frameworks (Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch), generative AI models (synthetic data, LLMs, prompt engineering), and proficiency with Excel.
