About the Role

Descartes Systems (USA) LLC, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking an AI Solutions Architect to spearhead the design and deployment of scalable artificial intelligence (AI) systems across our enterprise platforms. This pivotal, fully remote role, accessible from anywhere in the United States, is crucial for advancing Descartes’ next-generation automation and intelligent data products.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise AI architectures, integrating large language models (LLMs), vector databases, and prompt engineering techniques.
• Drive the development of conversational and voice-based AI applications using platforms like Microsoft Copilot Studio and VAPI.
• Build and manage robust AI/ML pipelines on Microsoft Fabric or Azure Databricks, ensuring scalable deployments and efficient data flows.
• Develop reusable frameworks and solution templates for AI-driven decision support systems and customer-facing applications.
• Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including product managers, data engineers, and supply chain domain experts to translate business requirements into intelligent systems.
• Define success metrics for AI solutions and establish evaluation pipelines to monitor model performance, quality, and reliability.
• Design and optimize data pipelines for efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval.
• Apply best practices in data security, governance, and responsible AI, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and corporate policies.
• Stay informed of emerging trends in generative AI, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning to continuously evolve product and platform strategy.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Management.
• Five years of experience with advanced SQL for data extraction, transformation, and orchestration.
• Four years of experience with Python for automation and orchestration.
• Four years of experience designing and optimizing data pipelines for efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval.
• Four years of experience developing and deploying dashboards and analytics solutions using Power BI and Tableau.
• Three years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Azure Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric).
• Demonstrated experience integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies (Azure AI foundry and/or Co-pilot Studio).
• Experience designing solutions incorporating large language models (LLMs) and vector databases using Azure Search, and prompt engineering into data products or analytics solutions.
• Proven experience collaborating with engineering, product, and data science teams to implement enterprise-grade data or AI solutions.
