About The Role

The Spatial Data Developer is a technical specialist within Vicmap supporting the end-to-end data load and replication pipelines that ensure Victoria’s foundational spatial data is sourced, transformed, maintained, validated, and published for end-users. The role requires expertise in database administration, cloud infrastructure, programming, and data modelling to deliver robust, efficient, and cost-effective data pipelines that support Vicmap’s custodians and customers.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining metadata, registry tables, and product views to uphold quality and support stakeholder use.

Working closely with data custodians and technical teams, you will provide expert advice, manage complex system escalations, and act as Product Manager for quality assurance and reporting modules. The position requires sound capability in administering and optimising cloud-based environments, including AWS databases, and the ability to implement change management tasks at the database level to resolve technical issues and enhance operational performance.
