About the Team
GDS is home to the Incubator for Artificial Intelligence (I.AI), the renowned GOV.UK and is at the forefront of the UK’s geospatial strategy. Located across Manchester, London, and Bristol, the team is comprised of highly-skilled digital professionals working on high priority, transformative projects.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide strategic communications advice to senior policy officials.
- Develop, plan and execute high quality strategic communications plans.
- Create accessible content and impactful narratives across channels.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams ensuring communications integration.
- Manage stakeholder relationships including policy, press, and external agencies.
- Oversee staff performance and development as a line manager.
Essential & Desirable Criteria
Extensive experience in communications strategy and execution, excellent news judgement and written skills, and proven capability in managing multiple stakeholder demands under tight deadlines are essential. Experience using data and insight to craft communication plans and working with external agencies is desirable.

Office Attendance & Work Arrangement
This position follows a discretionary hybrid working policy with 40-60% office attendance in the UK.
