Position Summary

The Data Analyst III at DemandScience is responsible for analyzing, processing, reporting, and identifying data workflow opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze and manipulate data including importing, exporting, queries, ETL, QA, and reporting.
  • Audit data to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement fixes.
  • Utilize internal and external tools to pull, merge, and append data for complex problem-solving.
  • Meet business data and reporting needs.
  • Participate in peer review and mentor team members.
  • Propose changes to data models and perform UAT on modifications.
  • Optimize existing processes to increase data volume and accuracy.
  • Develop special reports and analyze data to address business problems.
  • Assist departments and management in evaluating and interpreting data.
  • Enforce data collection policies and methods.
  • Maintain regular communication with the line manager for feedback and improvements.
  • Enhance data models to meet evolving business needs.
  • Work independently to set priorities and develop project deliverables.
  • QA own work to ensure data accuracy, security, and proper communication.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the manager.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/programming or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience working with data and QA.
  • 3-4 years experience as a Data Analyst and/or in Data Management.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel including macro building and editing.
  • 3-4 years of experience with ETL tools such as Alteryx.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with data analytics and data warehousing tools.
  • Proficiency with SQL databases (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, AWS DynamoDb).
  • Data visualization skills and familiarity with visualization tools.
  • Strong research skills to identify relevant data sources and attributes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership with a focus on long-term usability and extensibility.
