Position Responsibilities: Associate Cloud Engineer

Join us to automate and revolutionize software delivery for the construction industry using cloud, CI/CD, and AI. ComputerEase is a leading construction management application serving contractors across North America. Our application is delivered via Citrix/Guacamole in AWS, and we're modernizing our infrastructure with cutting-edge automation and cloud-native solutions.

We're seeking curious, adaptable full stack engineers who are excited to build and automate deployment pipelines, experiment with AI-driven solutions, and continuously improve our software delivery processes. You'll work on impactful automation projects from day one, with full support to learn new tools and technologies as you grow.

What You'll Do

  • Build and automate deployment pipelines in AWS - making software delivery faster, safer, and more reliable
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to streamline our release processes
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Experiment with AI-driven automation for pipeline monitoring, deployment optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Develop cloud-native applications and services in AWS environment
  • Build and maintain full stack applications using modern frameworks and technologies
  • Design and implement responsive front-end user interfaces using React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Build scalable backend APIs and services using Python, Node.js, or other modern languages
  • Work with databases to design schemas and optimize queries
  • Deploy applications to staging environments and support release processes
  • Monitor service health, respond to alerts, and participate in on-call rotation
  • Support customer applications and resolve customer issues
  • Integrate with existing services following API standards and platform patterns
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and other engineers
  • Iterate, experiment, and continuously improve processes and systems
  • Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive documentation and tests
  • Share knowledge with peers and contribute to team learning

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (2025 graduates)
  • Strong understanding of backend technologies (Node.js, Python, Java, or similar)
  • Experience with modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend language
  • Experience with databases - able to design schemas and optimize queries
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkinsfiles, pipeline as code)
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventory management, configuration automation)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) - able to provision basic resources and use console confidently
  • Ability to write functional scripts with proper error handling in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Experience using existing CI/CD pipelines and troubleshooting build failures
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and service integration patterns
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with systematic approach to troubleshooting
  • Adaptability and willingness to iterate, experiment, and learn continuously
  • Follows established architectural patterns and contributes to design discussions
  • Demonstrates curiosity and contributes innovative ideas
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Seeks mentorship actively and shares knowledge with team members
  • Attention to detail in code quality and security practices
  • Follows security policies and remediates basic security issues
  • Willingness to work with some overlap with US Eastern Time Zone (remote-first, flexible approach)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, CloudFront, EC2, Systems Manager)
  • Familiarity with Citrix or Guacamole (remote desktop solutions)
  • Experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Vuex)
  • Knowledge of GraphQL and modern API design patterns
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Pytest, JUnit)
  • Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and deployment procedures
  • Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
  • Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development
  • Experience with platform tools and developer onboarding processes
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Interest in AI/ML technologies and willingness to learn and apply new tools like AI-powered code assistants, automated testing, and intelligent monitoring
  • Experience supporting ML model deployment or AI infrastructure patterns
  • Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and ability to identify AI opportunities
  • Experience implementing basic AI features or following AI integration patterns
  • Understanding of Windows server environments
