Job Overview: Manager, Consumer and Individual Sales
The Manager – Consumer & Individual Sales is responsible for our individual direct-to-consumer sales channels, broker relations and development. You will oversee individual new sales, retention, and distribution partnerships statewide while supervising two inside sales representatives in a call center environment.
Essential Functions
- Achieve annual sales and retention goals for the Individual Plan category.
- Develop, mentor, and train the call center inside sales team (2 direct reports).
- Manage escalations and provide backup support during peak demand and PTO absences.
- Lead relationship building with individual segment-focused brokers and partners such as Select Health, Your Health Idaho, and PERSI.
- Analyze data, report sales activities and metrics, and support marketing decisions with competitive information.
- Enhance Delta Dental's brand presence through community engagement and event participation.
- Conduct product training for brokers and new team members on individual plans and commission policies.
- Develop subject matter expertise with Delta Dental’s proprietary ProClaim system.
- Exhibit commitment to the organization’s mission, core values, code of ethics, and compliance standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in health insurance sales or account management.
- Call center experience is preferred.
- Proven management and leadership experience.
- Strong collaboration and project coordination skills.
- Proficiency in computer technology and mainstream software tools (Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel in-state regularly with some overnight stays.
- Must obtain an Idaho producer license in Health & Disability within 30 days of employment.
Physical and Mental Requirements
This role involves continuous sitting/standing, repetitive hand motions, and requires strong comprehension, organization, reasoning, and communication skills.
