About the role
Risk Management Analyst
Delta Dental Ins. is seeking a diligent Risk Management Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting enterprise-wide risks to enhance our risk management strategy. You will evaluate risk events, assess their business impact, and stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes. By partnering with internal stakeholders and utilizing recognized risk models and industry standards, you will strengthen our risk posture through insightful analysis, comprehensive reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business units to develop and maintain risk profiles, conducting ongoing risk monitoring, assessment, and scoring.
- Facilitate risk assessments, workshops, and stakeholder interviews, including senior leaders.
- Create clear, comprehensive, and visually meaningful risk reports, dashboards, presentations, and diagrams for various audiences.
- Deliver leadership briefings on risk findings, emerging threats, and mitigation progress.
- Analyze data to identify patterns, gaps, or emerging risks impacting financial and operational performance.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Provide guidance to foster a risk-aware culture across the organization.
- Participate in internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews as needed.
- Oversee second line of defense activities for third-party risk and delegation oversight, aligned with Third Party Management services.
- Stay current on healthcare regulations, industry trends, and risk management best practices to anticipate and mitigate future risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify patterns and potential risks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to translate complex risk concepts clearly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with risk management software and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and senior leadership engagement.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, HEDIS, NAIC) is highly desirable.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning in a dynamic regulatory environment.
