Summary

The SRE DevOps position at Deloitte's Artificial Intelligence & Engineering team is a Consultant-level role focused on leveraging cutting-edge engineering capabilities to build, deploy, and operate integrated sector solutions across software, data, AI, network, and hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role is pivotal in transforming technology platforms and driving innovation for clients.

Work you’ll do:

• Apply industry knowledge for requirements gathering and analysis, ensuring sector alignment.
• Demonstrate expertise across the entire software development lifecycle, from design and coding to deployment and defect resolution, collaborating with stakeholders.
• Conduct peer and team reviews to maintain quality standards.
• Actively engage in Agile practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and effort estimation.
• Build and share business process knowledge, supporting project knowledge management and team training.
• Proactively recommend process improvements, track efficiency gains, and contribute to automation and innovation to enhance project outcomes and deliver greater value to clients.

Engineering as a Service provides comprehensive design, implementation, and technology operations by leveraging core engineering expertise. The team transforms engineering capabilities, modernizes technology, and delivers complex programs with a product engineering approach, offering flexible delivery models to accelerate innovation for clients.

Qualifications

Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in SRE, Cloud platforms, or DevOps with large-scale microservices in production environments.
• Experience in designing SRE architecture for high availability, disaster recovery, various deployment strategies, auto-scaling, and traffic management.
• Hands-on experience scaling distributed systems in public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with automated configuration tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Proficiency in managing and deploying Cloud Services, Monitoring, Alerting, and handling Escalations.
• Experience with Container Orchestration, including Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and Docker.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, including error budgets, SLOs, and SLAs.
• Proficiency in incident, change, and problem management processes.
• Ability to detect and resolve application-level incidents (e.g., crashes, slow response times).
• Collaborate with development teams to address defects and improve code quality.
• Automate repetitive tasks (toil) related to application operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for application failures.
• Implement and test new releases to ensure stability and reliability.
• Enhance customer experience by minimizing downtime and improving application responsiveness.
• Ensuring application changes do not introduce reliability risks.
• Leading and Managing day-to-day operations of business applications and platforms.
• Experience with streaming data infrastructure services, such as Kafka and Spark.
• Expertise in building and operating large-scale observability platforms for monitoring and logging (e.g., ELK, Prometheus).
• Proficiency in one of the programming languages such as Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.

Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

• Experience designing and building reliable systems capable of handling high throughput and low latency.
• Experience with observability and monitoring systems such as Dynatrace, Kibana, Datadog, etc.
• Familiarity with working in rapid growth environments.
• Experience in Ansible, Terraform, YAML/Shell scripting.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud environments.
• Experience designing and building reliable systems.
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment.

Education:

BE/B.Tech/M.C.A./M.Sc (CS) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
