About Deloitte Strategy & Transactions

Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, and sustainability. The team works closely with clients at every stage of their journey, helping them navigate challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and implement practical solutions before, during, and after major transformational projects or transactions creating lasting impact.

Work You'll Do

As a Senior Consultant, M&A Data Analytics, you will be a key member of client deal teams. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering, normalizing, validating, and analyzing transactional data (e.g., sales and inventory data) to develop and test hypotheses for a given deal.
  • Working as part of cross-functional teams providing financial, accounting, operational, and tax due diligence.
  • Managing and analyzing data and utilizing visual analytics skills to tell a compelling story of findings.
  • Using business intelligence tools and your data analytic skillset to provide meaningful insights crucial to client deal investment hypotheses.
  • Directly interacting with C-suite and private equity executives, providing advice on critical aspects of M&A transactions.

Specific tasks may include:

  • Coordinating with FP&A and Strategic Finance personnel to identify, collect, and validate data from client databases.
  • Analyzing financial & key performance indicator deal data for trends and outliers.
  • Identifying opportunities to design and develop visualizations and dashboards for effective and repeatable analysis of large transactional datasets.
  • Directly advising clients.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as demonstrable evidence of effective team leadership, client relationship development, project management, and engagement management, preferably in a client service setting. This is a front-line client interaction position with significant opportunity for growth and advancement.

The Team

The Strategy & Transactions team possesses an in-depth understanding of the M&A landscape, market experience, and access to our global network of advisors. We help clients confidently pursue strategic transactions in both domestic and global markets, managing the entire M&A lifecycle. Our services help clients develop growth strategies based on organizational goals and capitalize on opportunities during the merger, acquisition, or divestiture process.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similar.
  • 2-4 years of experience analyzing large datasets, including demonstrated understanding of data manipulation tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced business analytics and data mining solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of multiple business cycles (e.g., Order-to-cash revenue cycle, procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory).
  • Experience designing and storytelling via data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel Charts).
  • Experience analyzing or managing accounting, financial, or transactional data.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:
  • Strong working knowledge of data structures and database design.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, particularly revenue recognition and ASC 606.
  • Experience performing ETL/data manipulation using Alteryx or similar tools.
  • Experience designing data visualizations with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of how to use programming languages for data analyses: SQL, Python, R or other languages.
  • Statistical methods in support of data analysis.
  • CPA, CA certification.
  • Master of Business Administration or similar degree.
