About M&A IT Integration & Divestitures (I&D)

M&A IT Integration & Divestitures (I&D) is a key offering within Deloitte's Strategy & Transactions practice. Our IT I&D team executes M&A IT transactions to ensure seamless transitions and maximize value for our clients. We assist organizations in responding rapidly to opportunities, enhancing returns, and accelerating transformation. This Manager role is perfect for IT professionals leading in this dynamic space.

Work You'll Do

As an IT I&D Manager, you will advise, implement, and deliver transformative solutions to optimize client IT activities during pending/completed transactions, restructurings, and strategic cost transformation events. You will leverage subject matter expertise across critical IT components such as infrastructure, applications, IT operations, IT finances, Active Directory, end-user computing, messaging, enterprise architecture, and testing. You will perform business process analysis, mapping, and design for M&A projects focused on IT workstreams, including IT infrastructure separation, data center migration, application integration/separation/rationalization, and IT synergy/cost reduction initiatives. You will lead and deliver components of complex client engagements, identifying, designing, and implementing creative business and technology solutions for large companies.

• Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues and determining client needs through innovative assessment techniques.
• Evaluate and validate analyses, and develop actionable recommendations for the client within the engagement context.
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables, effectively managing the team and day-to-day client relationships for exceptional performance.
• Collaborate with practitioners across Deloitte's practices and businesses, including global IT teams.
• Participate actively in business development activities.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to recruitment and retention efforts.
• Provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.

The Team

Our M&A team provides expert guidance to corporate and private equity clients navigating complex growth and divestiture scenarios. Services include M&A strategy, transaction diligence, integration and separation planning and execution, and transaction financing. We assist clients with deal closing, integration and divestiture strategy and governance, accounting and reporting, developing and executing Day 1 implementation plans, and addressing longer-term integration needs to build the envisioned future-state organization. The IT team specifically focuses on IT integration and divestiture activities, encompassing end-state system architecture, application rationalization, and system or data migration. We help clients refocus their IT capabilities and identify optimal transaction and transformation strategies, leveraging Delivery Innovation, Cloud, and Flexible Compute Services.

Qualifications:

Required:

• 6+ years of M&A IT or M&A IT Service Delivery Experience, including setting engagement objectives, scope, and developing work plans.
• Experience coordinating activities between workstreams and managing scope changes.
• Designing deliverable content to precisely reflect engagement contracts and client needs.
• Managing cross-functional teams to deliver M&A engagements across all lifecycle phases: due diligence, pre-close, and post-merger integration.
• Providing corporate and private equity buyers with advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment structures, disposition alternatives, and post-transaction activities.
• Partnering with senior executives to define M&A strategies aligned with corporate strategy for profitable growth.
• Providing industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modeling for pre- and post-deal integration, divestiture, and cost transformation activities.
• Participating in and leading aspects of proposal development.
• 6+ years of experience in a specific area of Information Technology.
• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of consulting and/or industry experience, OR an MBA with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50% on average.

Preferred:

• Recent experience in a professional services consulting firm.
• Knowledge of Cloud Migration/Standup.
• Ability to work independently and lead small teams on project workstreams.
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with mature judgment.
• Ability to apply practical experience with communications, culture, and change management.
• Ability to perform analysis and synthesize data into insights.
• Eagerness to mentor junior staff.
• An advanced degree.
