About the Role: Legal Assistant, Litigation at Deloitte
Deloitte is actively seeking a Legal Assistant to join its esteemed Office of General Counsel (OGC). This role offers the opportunity to provide essential support to litigation attorneys and accountants through a diverse range of paralegal-focused assignments and projects.
While the position is primarily remote, there will be occasional requirements to work from a Deloitte office. These instances will be driven by the specific needs of particular cases, assignments, and for training or firm events. The recruitment period for this role concludes on March 31, 2026.
Work You'll Do
- Review all new subpoenas, pleadings, and other legal documents received by OGC from practice offices and service agents.
- Identify involved clients and accurately locate relevant information within legal documents.
- Download legal documents efficiently from Deloitte's agents for service of process websites.
- Input, maintain, and update data within OGC's litigation matter management system and service of process tracking database.
- Circulate new pleadings, subpoenas, legal documents, and related information to OGC attorneys or external personnel as needed.
- Utilize the service of process tracking database for informal conflicts checks and data gathering for OGC personnel.
- Create comprehensive Excel spreadsheets to present complex data effectively.
- Interact professionally with process servers regarding service of process.
- Collaborate closely with OGC attorneys, technical teams, and engagement personnel to gather information and respond to regulatory or litigation requests.
- Perform critical document management and review functions, including file review, indexing, redacting documents, and coordinating with outside reproduction services.
- Format audit, tax working papers, and other electronic documents for production, ensuring accuracy.
- Execute quality control checks on all document productions to guarantee accuracy and adherence to attorney instructions.
- Draft professional cover letters and objection letters.
- Prepare witness binders, exhibits, and data summaries for interviews and hearings.
- Conduct thorough legal and other types of research using internal and external computer databases and tools.
- Manage and organize hard copy and electronic files, including creation, maintenance, and updates.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the OGC team.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as a paralegal and/or legal assistant.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, without requiring employer sponsorship.
Preferred:
- Paralegal certificate.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills to determine appropriate escalation to attorneys or other legal team members.
- Proven ability to manage a complex legal caseload, working effectively with virtually based, cross-functional teams and both internal and external stakeholders.
Compensation Information
The estimated wage range for this role is between $57,200 and $117,400. This range reflects various factors including skills, experience, training, licensure, and organizational needs, and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials. Deloitte typically hires individuals within the lower to mid-point of the range based on specific circumstances.
