About Deloitte Strategy & Transactions

Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team guides clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We provide integrated, end-to-end support, covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. We partner with clients to navigate new challenges, avoid pitfalls, and deliver practical solutions before, during, and after major projects.

Focus on Insurance

This team collaborates across Deloitte's service offerings to formulate business strategy and strategic plans for leading insurance organizations. We implement solutions to execute these plans, aiding clients in complex engagements and organizational change. Engagements include developing underwriting, distribution, and claims transformation plans, modernizing business functions, redesigning operating models, implementing digital and advanced analytics solutions, and integrating functions across multiple organizations. Our work requires a blend of insurance industry knowledge, technical skill, and change management to instill client confidence and drive transformation. We leverage data, insights, new methods, and technologies to enhance our collaborative approach. The Insurance Strategy practice is actively seeking a Senior Manager to join this impactful team.

Work You'll Do

As an Insurance Technology Strategy Senior Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients make data-driven choices to achieve growth and enterprise value. You will collaborate with enterprise leaders to shape and execute robust strategies, navigating critical technology decisions related to platforms, engineered solutions, infrastructure, and operating models. Your role involves developing technology strategies to increase profitability, catalyze growth, and deliver value across stakeholders. You will determine adoption platforms, architectures, process changes, and capability improvements for efficient scale. This includes crafting high-quality deliverables and effectively managing teams and day-to-day client relationships. When not client-facing, you will contribute to business development by developing and presenting proposals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of management consulting experience focused on technology strategy and transformation.
  • 6+ years of experience crafting and implementing strategies for growth and technology transformation at corporate, business, or product level.
  • 6+ years of experience using analytical methods and tools for project analysis and recommendation support.
  • 4+ years of experience creating client-ready materials including roadmaps, presentations (PowerPoint), business cases, and technology transformation plans.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and delivering large, complex technology engagements (minimum 2 full life cycle implementations) and critical programs.
  • 4+ years of experience leading a team and influencing others.
  • Participation in 4 or more projects involving: Technology strategy definition / IT Strategy, cloud strategy, platform strategy, vendor selection, IT cost optimization, IT service delivery/outsourcing advisory, technology capability assessments, digital transformation architecture blueprinting, digital technology spend optimization, IT transformation roadmap development, IT service management assessment, data management strategy, IT process/tool deployment, IT governance, operating model assessment, IT financial management analysis, and enterprise/solution architecture.
  • Proficiency with Process Frameworks: IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), ISO 20000, COBiT, specifically ITIL's five lifecycle phases.
  • 6+ years experience in the insurance sector.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with strong undergraduate academic record.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on work, clients, and industries served.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

  • Undergraduate degree with a focus on Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, or Systems Engineering.
  • Advanced degree in business (i.e., MBA) or a related area of specialization.
  • 7+ years of experience leading technology issues and trends, including business implications within one or more industries.
  • 6+ years of experience in the consulting services sales pursuit & proposal process.
  • 6+ years of experience with Scenario Planning/Modeling.
  • Knowledge of or experience in broader G&A functions (e.g., HR, IT, Finance, Procurement, Commercial Operations).
  • Basic understanding of core digital technologies underpinning customer experiences (e.g., CRM, E-Commerce, Content Management).
