About the Role

Definity, parent to Canada’s leading insurance brands, is seeking a Sr Claims Adjuster - Bodily Injury Casualty. You will be accountable for the investigation, negotiation and settlement of senior third party claims including Automobile, Homeowners, and Commercial claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Senior Bodily Injury, Casualty, and General Liability claims.
  • Engage stakeholders including underwriting and senior leadership.
  • Confirm policy coverages, investigate claims, and determine liability and quantum.
  • Settle claims directly with claimants and Plaintiff’s Counsel.
  • Direct and instruct Defence Counsel and mentor junior team members.
  • Maintain detailed records and participate in mediations, pre-trials, and settlement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • University degree, college diploma or CIP designation.
  • Minimum 3 years claims handling experience in Bodily Injury/Casualty Litigation.
  • Experience in Ontario auto BI and CGL claims and notable Commercial General Liability Claims handling.
  • Strong communication skills; bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and strong computer skills.
  • Licensed in multiple provinces is an asset.
