The Materials Examiner and Identifier Forklift Operator position at Defense Logistics Agency involves receiving, examining, and determining the condition and disposition of a wide variety of materials. Major Duties
- Examine materials and verify stock numbers, nomenclature, quantity, and unit of issue.
- Visually inspect property for condition and acceptability while noting special handling needs.
- Manage demilitarization codes and segregated storage for items requiring DEMIL.
- Perform periodic inventories, re-palletize, and relocate property as needed.
- Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely.
Qualification Summary
Applicants must perform the work with normal supervision and meet all screen-out elements. Experience can be gained through paid or unpaid work including volunteer activities. Physical demands include moderate to heavy lifting and working in variable environmental conditions.
Working Conditions
Work is performed inside warehouses and in outdoor environments such as dock areas and scrap yards. Employees must wear safety equipment and are exposed to typical hazards of warehouse operations.
