Job Description
Summary
This position is recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service. It supports the mission of the US Cyber Command and is in the FULL PERFORMANCE Work Category at the SENIOR Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. The role is based at the DISA-Joint Interoperability Test Command (JTE1).
Duties
The IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST serves as the principal technical authority and lead specialist responsible for the technical management of customer computing requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, interpreting, and applying IT policy, process, and strategy.
- Ensuring data and system integration and interoperability across platforms.
- Assessing security events and implementing corrective actions.
- Managing quality assurance programs for backup, recovery, and maintenance.
- Leveraging emerging technologies and comprehensive IT architecture knowledge.
Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, meet selective service requirements if applicable, and obtain a security clearance. The position requires adherence to DoD 8140 policies with foundational and residential qualifications completed within specified timeframes. Drug testing is mandatory.
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, strong customer service skills, effective oral communication, and problem-solving abilities. Experience in computer networking and security, risk management, and IT methodologies is required. Qualifying experience guidelines differ for GG-12 and GG-13 levels.
