Meet the Team Behind This Journey
You will be an integral part of the Business Acceleration Track (BAT), the engine driving DeepL's global expansion. This team builds the systems necessary for DeepL to evolve from a consumer tool into an Enterprise standard utilized by the world's largest companies.
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, Enterprise in BAT, you will be a core contributor, directly building features that generate revenue. Your work, whether developing a new checkout flow, integrating a payment provider, or enhancing the Team Management dashboard, will have a direct impact on our bottom line. We seek engineers who are fast learners, ship frequently, and prioritize the business impact of their code.
Your Responsibilities
- Ship Features End-to-End: Own the implementation of features across the entire stack, utilizing React for the frontend and C#/.NET for the backend. Ensure your code functions robustly in production environments.
- Master the Domain: Develop a deep understanding of Enterprise SaaS intricacies, including subscription models, team management, and payment processing. Leverage this knowledge to identify bugs and propose strategic improvements.
- Collaborate to Raise the Bar: Actively participate in code reviews and architectural discussions. Utilize AI tools like Copilot to enhance efficiency, allowing you to focus on complex business logic rather than boilerplate code.
- Build for Quality: Recognize the critical importance of handling money and customer access. Write clean, thoroughly tested code, meticulously addressing edge cases, such as payment failures.
Qualities We Look For
- High Learning Trajectory: Demonstrate curiosity about complex systems and a willingness to explore legacy codebases or new APIs to accomplish tasks.
- User-Centricity: Possess the ability to empathize with users and IT administrators, striving to create simple and intuitive interfaces for complex configurations.
- Technical Versatility: While our stack includes C#/.NET, React, and PostgreSQL, expertise in all is not required; a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to the right tools for the job is key.
- Bias for Action: Prefer to implement small, impactful improvements promptly over prolonged planning for a perfect solution.
- AI-Native Velocity: Proficiently leverage AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to accelerate development, minimize repetitive tasks, and dedicate cognitive energy to high-value architectural decisions and problem-solving.
What DeepL Offers
- Diverse and Internationally Distributed Team: Join a global community of over 90 nationalities, with employees across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the US, and Japan. DeepL doubles in size nearly every year, fostering a shared mission to connect diverse cultures.
- Open Communication, Regular Feedback: As a language-focused company, clear, honest communication is paramount. We value smooth collaboration, direct, actionable feedback, and believe in leading with empathy and a growth mindset.
- Hybrid Work, Flexible Hours: Enjoy a hybrid work schedule requiring two office days per week, combining direct team engagement with remote flexibility. Flexible hours and trust in your productivity are supported, aligning with team locations and time zones for effective collaboration.
- Virtual Shares: Every employee receives Virtual Shares, linking your contributions directly to DeepL’s growth and providing a stake in our future success.
- Regular In-Person Team Events: Participate in vibrant local, business unit, new-joiner, and company-wide events designed to foster team bonding.
- Monthly Full-Day Hacking Sessions: Dedicate Hack Fridays to personal projects, cross-team collaboration, and exploring new initiatives, impact, and creativity.
- 30 Days of Annual Leave: Benefit from 30 days of leave (excluding public holidays) and access to mental health resources, supporting your well-being.
- Competitive Benefits: DeepL offers a comprehensive benefits package tailored to reflect the diversity of our global team and aligned with individual locations.
If this role resonates with you but you don't meet every qualification, DeepL encourages you to apply. We value your potential and the growth we can achieve together.
