The Opportunity
This role is based in the APAC territory and focuses on full customer lifecycle management with a heavy emphasis on architecture, implementation, and Tier-3 technical support. The candidate will own post-sales engagements, assist with pre-sales POCs, and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to refine the roadmap.
About Applied Engineering
The Applied Engineering team at Deepgram functions as a blend of Solutions Engineering, Architecture, Consulting, and Senior Technical Support. It partners with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Developer Relations to deliver fast and outcome-oriented enterprise solutions.
What You Will Do
- Lead architecture and implementation for enterprise deployments using Deepgram STT, TTS, and voice agent capabilities.
- Own post-sales technical success by resolving integration challenges and optimizing system performance.
- Act as the Tier-3 escalation point and drive root cause analysis to propose lasting solutions.
- Design reference architectures and sample implementations for common APAC use cases.
- Partner with Sales and Engineering during pre-sales and contribute to knowledge systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations to meet regional SLAs.
Regional Expectations
Based in an APAC time zone with overlap to business hours across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and ANZ. Excellent written and spoken English is required, with additional Asian languages a plus. Familiarity with regional data privacy and security standards is expected.
Your First 90 Days
First 30 Days: Ramp up on Deepgram’s platform, shadow calls, and start handling low-risk tasks. By Day 60: Own several customer workstreams, lead a discovery process, and publish a reusable asset. By Day 90: Serve as the primary technical owner for multiple APAC accounts, close investigations, and share your findings.

Qualifications
Minimum: 5+ years in Solutions Architecture or similar roles, experience in software engineering (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python), cloud platforms, containerization, and secure API design. Proven post-sales deployment and problem solving experience is required.
Preferred: Experience with voice technologies, speech recognition, TTS, voice agents, and familiarity with APAC compliance standards. Fluency in an additional Asian language is a plus.
