About the Team

Mississippi Today, a growing nonprofit newsroom based in Jackson, is seeking a driven, critical thinker to join their vibrant team of journalists. Led by Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Anna Wolfe, they produce nuanced stories on municipal elections, apartment complex water shutoffs, small-town politics, government loopholes, economic development, crime, and city budgeting.

Our Newsroom

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Enterprise reporting on systemic government and policy issues.
  • Political reporting on community-impact topics and public service challenges.
  • Cultural reporting to highlight local success stories.
  • Develop sources, conduct in-depth interviews, and file accurate copy on deadline.
  • Collaborate with the Audience Team and data/visual journalists.
