About the Role: Staff Product Designer

We are seeking a passionate and highly experienced Staff Product Designer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves shaping the future of our products, driving design excellence, and delivering delightful customer experiences. You will lead design initiatives across both vertical and horizontal projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive and impactful user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Design Initiatives: Define and deliver product design across multiple initiatives, aligning with user needs and business goals, and leading end-to-end feature development.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business partners to build coherent, high-quality, functional, and delightful experiences.
• Advocate for Design Systems: Champion the Deel UI/Design System strategy, driving iterative adoption that balances consistency with innovation.
• Design and Prototype at Speed: Rapidly design, prototype, and test new features based on deep understanding of business, customers, and technology, delivering thoughtful solutions amidst ambiguity.
• Mentor and Guide: Provide mentorship to Product Designers, offering constructive feedback to foster growth and skill development, and establishing new design practice standards.
• Identify and Solve Bottlenecks: Partner with product and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, make informed recommendations, and implement process improvements.
• Drive Clarity from Complexity: Navigate ambiguity with ease, driving clarity and actionable insights from complex situations, balancing user and business needs for impactful and strategic solutions.
• Outstanding Communication and Facilitation: Bring people together through inspiring design and narrative, fostering alignment across teams by effectively communicating a design vision and facilitating collaboration.

Requirements:

• Passion for Design: A deep passion for Product Design and UX Design craft, committed to creating meaningful, impactful user experiences.
• Extensive Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years as a Product Designer in a fast-paced environment, with at least 2 years leading holistic design as a Staff Product Designer (or equivalent title).
• Multi-Disciplinary Expertise: Strong skills in UI, UX, and visual design, with a proven track record of crafting functional yet delightful customer experiences, comfortable with complex flows and storytelling through visuals.
• Data-Informed Design: Design work deeply rooted in ideation, experimentation, and evidence, ensuring recommendations are always backed by data.
• Comfortable with Ambiguity: Able to work at speed while maintaining high-quality and thoughtful solutions, driving clarity from complexity and ambiguity.
• Balances User and Business Needs: Equally focused on user experience and business objectives, ensuring design solutions effectively meet both criteria.
• Strong Communicator and Facilitator: An outstanding communicator who can bring people together, build strong relationships, and gain alignment across teams, inspiring through design and narrative.
• Mentorship Experience: Experienced in mentoring Product Designers, providing guidance that enables them to learn, grow, and progress in their careers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners, developing best practices for engagement and collaboration across the organization.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Payroll and FinTech, with the ability to apply this expertise to deliver impactful design solutions.
• Embedded Team Experience: Experienced in being deeply embedded within a development team, working with a light touch from the Product Manager to deliver high-quality outcomes.
