The Role: Payroll Implementation Manager
As a Payroll Implementation Manager at Deel, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation and data migration of payroll systems for Deel’s clients. This role involves leading the full payroll implementation process, ensuring accurate data transfer, proper system configuration, and a seamless client transition. You will collaborate extensively with internal teams and external stakeholders, guiding clients through setup and migration phases, and providing ongoing support and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Set-up: Organize and run kick-off meetings with onboarding teams and clients, creating and maintaining project plans for successful client roll-outs.
- Client and Project Management: Support internal and external project review calls, coordinate project streams, and manage changes to scope or delivery schedules.
- Payroll Process Requirements: Define and set up agreed client payroll processes, establish all payroll and data requirements, and manage client payroll calendars effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and process documentation.
- System Set-up and Parallel Payroll Process: Define, agree, and configure all interfaces, reports, and system configurations for successful parallel and live payroll, if applicable.
- Go-live Transition & Sign-off: Work with clients to sign-off on projects, document client-specific needs and processes, and generate reports for analyzing, auditing, and reconciling payroll data.
- Reports: Map General Ledger (GL) reports as required.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll project matters for the client, managing priorities autonomously and escalating issues to senior leadership as needed.
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of global payroll systems, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather comprehensive payroll requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll processes adhere to local tax and labor laws, staying updated with changes.
- Data Migration: Oversee the accurate and secure migration of payroll data from legacy systems to the new global payroll system.
- Testing: Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Change Management: Implement change management strategies for seamless transitions for employees and HR teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in global payroll implementation and payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across your designated location (Netherlands).
- Experience with payroll systems and software.
- Client-facing project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
