Responsibilities of a Manager, Customer Onboarding

  • Managing and growing a team of Onboarding Managers (OBMs) who support customer onboarding.
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training new team members to ensure readiness and alignment.
  • Responsible for fostering team motivation and supporting individual personal development plans.
  • Helping to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the team and ensuring their achievement.
  • Becoming an expert user of the Deel platform and ensuring the team also achieves expert status.
  • Jumping on escalations, assisting the team with difficult customers and complex cases, and driving to resolution.
  • Driving initiatives that impact cross-onboarding teams and facilitating holistic improvement of customer journeys.
  • Partnering with internal teams including Sales, Support, Operations, Product, and Engineering for optimal customer experience.
  • Suggesting and implementing ideas to optimize customer onboarding workflows through process improvements and product automation.
  • Leading key internal initiatives and projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Providing consistent training, constructive feedback, and coaching to onboarding managers for continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in Customer Onboarding or Customer Success for a B2B SaaS product.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proactive focus on anticipating next steps.
  • High attention to detail and ability to design organized onboarding plans.
  • Customer-focused approach with proven experience in building strong customer relationships.
  • A team player with demonstrated experience working effectively in diverse teams.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex ideas clearly in writing, presentations, and verbally.
