About The Role: Head of Social

We are seeking a Head of Social to significantly elevate Deel's cultural, creative, and strategic presence across social platforms. This is not a traditional corporate social media role; it demands someone who deeply understands internet culture, can engineer viral moments, and will transform social media into a meaningful brand and growth lever. You will own Deel’s global social strategy end-to-end, with the autonomy to build something distinctive and ambitious.

What You’ll Do At Deel

  • Own and evolve Deel’s global social strategy across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X, defining each platform’s specific role.
  • Define and develop an ownable brand voice that is fun, insightful, aspirational, and native to each platform.
  • Build and operate a high-velocity content engine, balancing unique cultural moments with a consistent always-on cadence.
  • Lead creative partnerships with external agencies and creators to shape the brand.
  • Lead and develop a small in-house social team (2–3 people), setting high standards for taste, speed, and execution.
  • Utilize social listening, cultural signals, and audience behavior to integrate Deel into relevant real-time conversations.
  • Make smart, creative trade-offs, knowing when to take risks and when to protect brand integrity.
  • Define success metrics for social and continuously iterate based on performance, engagement, and audience response.

Some Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience creating or leading viral, culturally relevant social content.
  • Demonstrated ownership of outcomes, not just participation in campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of how content and tone should vary by platform.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and storytelling instincts.
  • Experience working with creators, agencies, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to clearly articulate why content worked, not just that it did.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with high autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Built or scaled a brand or audience that people actively follow and engage with.
  • Experience in consumer, lifestyle, challenger brands, or high-growth tech environments.
  • Created social content that traveled beyond its core audience or category.
  • Strong writing instincts and intellectual curiosity.
  • A bias toward action, experimentation, and shipping over perfect process.
  • A clear point of view on what great social looks like—and the conviction to back it.
