Role Overview: Data Engineer

Your role involves architecting and implementing a robust, unified permission system across our modern data stack. You will design, build, and maintain efficient ETL processes and ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with global standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and build efficient data pipelines to integrate multiple data sources.
• Architect scalable Role-Based and Attribute-Based Access Control models in Snowflake and Looker.
• Ensure alignment of security policies between data warehouse roles and BI tools.
• Build automated reporting for audit and compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOC2).
• Develop and optimize data warehouse schemas for analytics.
• Write complex SQL queries and use Python for data transformations.
• Implement data quality measures and perform data cleansing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet data requirements.
• Document designs, flows, and definitions adhering to team standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or backend development.
• Strong SQL skills, data modeling, and data warehouse solution experience.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline automation.
• Familiarity with ETL tools and orchestration frameworks such as Apache Airflow.
• Experience with data quality checks and handling large-scale datasets.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced LookML experience for building complex Looker models integrating with Snowflake.
• Experience with data discovery/cataloging tools like Select.dev.
• Familiarity with dbt for data quality tests and metadata documentation.
