Responsibilities of an Analytics Engineer - Product Analytics
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data models, using tools like dbt, that align with the overall data architecture and critical business requirements.
- Manage end-to-end data pipelines, from extraction through transformation to loading, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery for analysis.
- Utilize complex SQL queries and macros to efficiently transform data, continuously optimizing query performance.
- Integrate comprehensive data quality checks and cleansing routines to guarantee the reliability and accuracy of all datasets.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts and fellow analytics engineers to establish consistency and accuracy in metrics and definitions across the team.
- Actively contribute to team processes, occasionally leading meetings or proposing improvements to analytics workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a data analytics engineering or Business Intelligence (BI) development role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, coupled with hands-on experience in data modeling tools (e.g., dbt) and data warehousing concepts.
- Practical experience with business intelligence platforms, including building dashboards in tools like Looker, Tableau, or similar.
- Foundational programming skills in Python or a similar language, applicable to data processing and automation tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple data projects, troubleshoot complex data issues, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical team members.
