Your Role as an Analytics Engineer, Marketing

As an Analytics Engineer, Marketing at Deel, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data models that align with our overall data architecture and critical business requirements. You will manage end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring timely and accurate data for comprehensive analysis, and optimize complex SQL queries for peak performance. A key aspect of this role involves incorporating rigorous data quality checks and cleansing routines to guarantee reliable datasets. You will also collaborate closely with data analysts and other analytics engineers to maintain consistency and accuracy in all metrics and definitions, contributing to team processes and workflow improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models (e.g., in dbt) aligning with data architecture and business needs.
  • Manage end-to-end data pipelines, from extraction to transformation and loading, for timely and accurate data.
  • Utilize complex SQL queries and macros to efficiently transform data, optimizing for performance.
  • Incorporate data quality checks and cleansing routines to ensure data reliability and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and other analytics engineers for consistent metrics and definitions.
  • Contribute to team processes, occasionally leading meetings or proposing workflow improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar data analytics engineering or BI development role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling tools (such as dbt) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g., building dashboards in Looker, Tableau, or similar).
  • Basic programming skills in Python or a similar language for data processing and automation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple data projects, troubleshoot data issues, and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical team members.
