About the Analytics Engineer Role
As an Analytics Engineer at Deel, you will play a crucial role in shaping our data landscape, specifically within product analytics. This position involves transforming raw data into reliable, accessible, and actionable insights that drive product development and business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data models, primarily using dbt, ensuring alignment with overall data architecture and business requirements.
- Manage end-to-end data pipelines, covering data extraction, transformation, and loading, to deliver timely and accurate data for analysis.
- Utilize advanced SQL queries and macros for efficient data transformation, with a focus on optimizing query performance.
- Implement comprehensive data quality checks and cleansing routines to guarantee the reliability and accuracy of datasets.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts and other analytics engineers to maintain consistency and accuracy in metrics and definitions across teams.
- Actively contribute to team processes, occasionally leading meetings or proposing improvements to analytics workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar data analytics engineering or Business Intelligence development role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, coupled with hands-on experience in data modeling tools like dbt and strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Practical experience with business intelligence platforms, including developing dashboards in tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar.
- Foundational programming skills in Python or a comparable language for data processing and automation tasks.
- Proven capability to manage multiple data projects concurrently, troubleshoot data issues effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical team members.
