The Role: Account Executive, SMB
Deel is actively recruiting for multiple teams within our Small to Midsize Business (SMB) segment, seeking relentless hunters passionate about uncovering new opportunities and delivering immense value to clients.
As an Account Executive, SMB, you will be crucial to our growth across the U.S. and Canada. Your role will involve managing the full sales cycle, whether introducing Deel to a small business (1-20 employees) for the first time or strategically expanding our presence within existing partnerships. We are looking for proactive, high-energy professionals who combine the tenacity of an SDR with the sophistication of a seasoned AE to simplify global hiring and payroll for our customers.
What You’ll Do
- Drive Full-Cycle Sales: Manage the entire sales process, from outbound prospecting and lead qualification to negotiation and closing, while maintaining a robust and accurate pipeline.
- Uncover & Expand: Generate revenue through new logo acquisition and upsell/cross-sell Deel’s comprehensive suite of HR and payroll solutions to current clients.
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Serve as a consultant to founders and executives, deeply understanding their internal processes to recommend tailored solutions that drive change and maximize client lifetime value.
- Own Your Book: Proactively manage a portfolio of accounts, conducting business reviews and implementing strategies to boost renewal rates and revenue potential.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Sales Development, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure a seamless client experience from initial contact to long-term partnership.
- Represent Deel: Act as a brand ambassador at industry events (virtual or in-person) and meticulously maintain CRM data for accurate forecasting and reporting.
What You’ll Bring
- The "Hunter" Mentality: Demonstrated experience in SDR/BDR and AE roles, with a proven track record of generating your own pipeline through cold calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach.
- Sales Excellence: 2+ years of experience in a sales closing role (SaaS/Tech preferred), ideally with a history of success in fast-paced, transactional sales cycles typically under 30 days.
- Product Fluency: Success in multi-product or solution-based sales environments; prior experience with payroll or HR products is a significant advantage.
- Grit & Adaptability: Thrive in high-performance, remote work settings and possess an entrepreneurial mindset to achieve results with minimal direct supervision.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills, adept at simplifying complex global compliance issues into clear, actionable terms for VP-level decision-makers.
- Analytical Rigor: Quick with numbers, highly organized, and committed to delivering world-class service while simultaneously managing multiple deals and follow-ups.
