We’re proud to be backed by world-class investors who share that vision, including a16z, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, Coatue, and Index Ventures, along with many others. We’re an in-office company, driven by a shared commitment to excellence and velocity. Our values — Just Get It Done, Invent What Customers Want, Winner’s Mindset, and The Polymath Principle — shape how we work and grow as a team.
About The Team
The Accounting team at Decagon is at the center of our growth, building the financial foundation that powers a rapidly scaling startup. We ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP while designing scalable processes and strong controls that support expansion across teams and geographies. Partnering closely with Sales, People, Legal, and Operations, we drive thoughtful spend management, contract oversight, and payroll excellence—balancing precision with agility in a fast-moving environment where our work directly enables the company’s next stage of growth.
About The Role
Decagon is growing fast — and our procurement function needs to grow with it. We're looking for a highly motivated Procurement Manager to join our team and build the systems, relationships, and processes that keep our business moving. This isn't a "maintain the status quo" role. You'll be expected to challenge inefficiencies, think strategically, and drive real impact across the organization. You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to create a procurement experience that's seamless, scalable, and genuinely delightful to work with. If you thrive in fast-moving environments and get energized by turning chaos into structure, this role is for you.
In this role, you will
- Own and optimize the end-to-end procurement process, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements that scale alongside Decagon's rapid growth. You'll be the driving force behind smarter, faster, and more cost-effective purchasing.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms and uncover cost savings that directly benefit the company's bottom line — and then track and communicate that impact clearly.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to onboard vendors smoothly and ensure suppliers are set up for success from day one, including getting paid accurately and on time.
- Use data to continuously assess procurement performance, surface insights, and make informed recommendations that keep our processes ahead of the curve.
- Champion procurement tooling and automation — building AI-enabled workflows and leveraging systems to eliminate manual work and drive efficiency.
- Act as a trusted partner across the organization, aligning procurement strategy with business priorities and removing barriers that slow teams down.
Your background looks something like this
- You have 6+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a high-growth technology company where the pace is fast and the stakes are real.
- You've worked hands-on with procurement tools like Ramp, Zip, or comparable platforms, and know how to get the most out of them.
- You've built strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and understand that procurement is as much about people as it is about process.
- You're an excellent communicator — written and verbal — with the organizational skills and interpersonal presence to act as an effective change agent across teams and seniority levels.
- You can manage multiple projects simultaneously without letting things slip, staying composed under pressure and maintaining accuracy even when deadlines are tight.
- You hold yourself to a high standard, take initiative without being asked, and operate as a genuine team player who makes the people around you better.
Even better
- Have experience building AI-enabled workflows within a procurement context — whether that's automating approvals, surfacing spend insights, or integrating tools in creative ways to reduce manual lift.
- Have a restless attitude toward process improvement — you never look at a workflow and think "good enough." If something can be better, you're already thinking about how to make it so.
