AI Security and Controls Subject Matter Expert

Job Overview

The AI Security and Controls Subject Matter Expert role focuses on designing and executing AI assurance strategies and control matrices within a technology and internal audit framework. This hybrid position is based in NYC and is ideal for local candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, define, and execute AI assurance strategies, risk, and control matrices.
• Conduct audits focusing on controls, governance, and risk management of GenAI/AI models.
• Review and assess AI model privacy, data protection, and security controls.
• Stay current with GenAI models and upcoming advancements.
• Implement new audit tools and techniques for AI/ML systems such as interpretability, fairness, and robustness.
• Communicate risks and business impacts related to AI models including bias, drift, and vulnerabilities.
• Collect and analyze data on model performance, privacy, and security.
• Test controls across the AI model lifecycle including development, deployment, monitoring, and access.
• Identify and report control gaps, risks, and root causes.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years' relevant experience in technology audit, AI/ML, data privacy, or information security.
• Strong audit knowledge including risk assessment, planning, testing, and reporting focused on AI/ML.
• Ability to communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying risks and anomalies in AI model/data behavior.
• Preferred certifications: CISA, CISSP, or relevant AI/ML certifications.
• Technical expertise in AI/ML model development and deployment, model interpretability, fairness, robustness, privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA), security standards (NIST, ISO 27001/02), and data governance and protection practices.
