Role Overview
We’re looking to hire a Solutions Architect to join the Revenue team. As a Solutions Architect, you will lead the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of dbt Cloud for our largest enterprise & commercial customers.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Work with customers through their dbt Cloud journey: from discovery, demos, & evaluations all the way through product adoption & expansion.
- Become an expert in a) designing enterprise-grade data pipelines in dbt Cloud and b) articulating the business value dbt Cloud accrues to customers.
- Collaborate with customer contacts to achieve architecture & security approval for dbt Cloud.
- Team across departments to build the dbt ecosystem and go-to-market motion (i.e. present at Marketing events, enable Partners, collaborate with Customer Support & Professional Services).
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, e.g. surfacing customer feedback or weighing in on product roadmap.
- Closely align with our strategic partners (e.g. data platform providers or consulting partners).
- Travel up to ~25% of the time (meeting prospects/customers in-person, plus team offsites / kickoffs).
- Be an active member of the dbt community (e.g. publish blogs, attend dbt meetups, etc.).
Good Fit If You Have:
- 4+ years of sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting in data operations, analytics, or BI.
- A solid technical background, with experience in SQL, ETL, and data modelling.
- A firm understanding of and ability to discuss modern data warehousing architectures.
- Ability to gather and translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills to discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced work environment.
- A passion for being an inclusive teammate and involved member of the community.
You'll have an edge if you have:
- Prior experience working at an analytics, ETL, BI, and/or open-sourced software company.
- Knowledge of or prior experience with dbt.
- Experience with Dimensional Modeling.
- Experience with traditional Enterprise ETL tooling (Informatica, Boomi, Talend, WhereScape).
Qualifications:
- A minimum requirement of at least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.

The typical starting salary range for this role is: $176,000 NZ - $245,000 NZ
