Key Responsibilities of a Diesel Technician
- Capable of performing most major repairs with limited guidance or supervision.
- Repair equipment in the most effective manner, focusing on quality and cost control.
- Perform effective diagnostic routines that identify root causes and determine the best repair methods.
- Provide mentoring and training to less experienced technicians.

What You'll Need to Succeed
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in computer-based maintenance systems.
- Vendor-sponsored training in major vehicle components.
- Minimum five years of experience in Class 8 maintenance and repair.
- This position requires working in a shop environment, frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, heat, cold, and increased noise levels.
- Constantly position oneself to operate, inspect, and move up to 60 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard daily.
- Ability to detect, recognize, and assess printed text and handwritten documents.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
