Position Summary

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP is an elite global law firm known for handling challenging legal and business matters. The Word Processing Operator is responsible for performing full range of word processing functions to produce various documents. This role involves transcribing, faxing, scanning, and copying documents, and working one-on-one with lawyers on special projects.

Essentials Duties And Responsibilities

  • Produce a wide variety of documents such as financial documents, reports, correspondence, presentations, and charts.
  • Create, revise, and print documents using advanced software functions and standard forms.
  • Work directly with lawyers on special projects requiring specific instructions.
  • Convert documents between various applications and formats.
  • Provide word processing assistance on practice floors and remote offices.
  • Transcribe dictation into legal documents.
  • Operate standard office equipment including computers and multifunction devices.
  • Manage files, documents, and office supplies efficiently.
  • Handle confidential materials with discretion.
  • Collaborate with lawyers and business services professionals with a positive attitude.

Qualifications / Position Requirements

Applicants must have a strong knowledge of word processing fundamentals, proficiency in advanced functions of MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Acrobat. Experience with OCR scanning, transcription, and handling confidential material is essential. A minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably in a legal or financial word processing center, is required along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation & Work Schedule

The expected base salary ranges from $95,000 to $110,000, depending on skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. The position operates Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
