Role & Responsibilities

The Alterations Customer Service Representative is key to the successful operation of the Alterations department, ensuring superior customer service. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will:

  • Greet customers in-person, over the phone, and via virtual chats with friendliness and clarity.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and customer flow using all systems.
  • Provide service according to the five-star customer service vows: Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs, and Be There.
  • Communicate alterations benefits and personalization options effectively.
  • Maintain store standards including cleanliness, promotional readiness, and organization.
  • Handle POS transactions accurately and process special orders and pick-ups.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean garments; perform quality control checks before delivery.
  • Escalate customer issues appropriately by partnering with leadership.

Physical Demands

The role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, reaching and bending, using a computer and POS terminal, and manual dexterity for garment care and minor sewing tasks.

Education & Credentials

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years retail experience in an apparel or specialty store.
  • Experience with computerized POS systems; prior sewing experience is helpful.
