Strategic Retail Analyst at David Protein

David Protein creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Our first product is a protein bar, and our broader mission is to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable. This role is ideal for early career professionals eager to contribute to an evolving CPG company with a strong growth trajectory.

Role and Responsibilities

The Strategic Retail Analyst will specialize by channel (e.g., Grocery, Convenience, Club) and act as the General Manager for their assigned business unit with full P&L responsibility.

  • Channel Leadership: Own growth and profitability of your retail channel.
  • P&L Ownership & Commercial Strategy: Manage revenue, margin, pricing, pack architecture and cost structure.
  • Pricing Strategy: Develop pricing frameworks, manage pack size strategy, and negotiate promotions.
  • Retail Partnership Negotiations: Onboard retail accounts and negotiate commercial terms including pricing, margins, SKU assortment, and in-store marketing.
  • Retail Execution & Performance: Forecast demand, manage inventory, and boost on-shelf performance.
  • New Product Launches: Lead the retail rollout of new products in the assigned channel.
  • Strategic Relationships: Build long-term partnerships with key retailers and distributors.

Qualifications

1-3 years of relevant experience with strong analytical, persuasive communication, and relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate is autonomous, curious, and driven by fast-paced decision-making. Applicants early in their career are encouraged to apply if they feel they are the right fit.

Compensation & Benefits

This full-time role offers $90k-$110k per year cash compensation, equity opportunities, and comprehensive benefits including Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance, 401(k), and substantial PTO. Significant travel for retail partners and trade show events is required.

Work Environment

This position is office-based in New York City, five days a week, fostering a collaborative environment when culture aligns.
