Overview
David Protein creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Our first product is a protein bar, and we aim to be the most popular high-protein bar in North America and beyond. Led by CEO Peter Rahal, former CEO of RXBAR, the company is in a critical growth stage.
Role and Responsibilities
The Senior Quality Analyst supports the Quality team by managing quality management systems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. The role includes engaging in cross-functional projects and collaborating with R&D and commercialization teams from product development through production.
Key Duties
- Quality Management & Compliance: Maintain procedures, update SOPs, manage non-conformance data, and conduct audits.
- Continuous Improvement: Execute improvement initiatives, perform root cause analysis, and track KPIs.
- Project Management: Coordinate cross-department quality projects and support TraceGains processes.
- R&D Collaboration: Partner with R&D to incorporate quality in product design and validate product trials.
- Commercialization Support: Work with commercialization teams during Stage Gate processes and product launches.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records and provide timely quality performance reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field. 2+ years experience in food safety, regulatory compliance, or supplier qualification. Familiarity with FDA, USDA, CFIA, FSMA, HACCP, SQF, and Prop 65 regulations. PCQI / HACCP certification. Experience with documentation and regulatory tracking systems is preferred.

Additional Information
This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City with occasional travel for audits and trials. Salary ranges from $100,000-$120,000 per year, with a cash bonus tied to company targets, company equity, full benefits including health, vision, dental, 401(k) with 4% match, gym expenses coverage, and substantial PTO.
