Overview

Datum Labs is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and manage complex, large-scale data systems that empower data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines using Kafka, Spark, Airflow, or similar tools.
• Design scalable and secure data platforms on AWS (Glue, Redshift, Athena) or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
• Implement real-time data ingestion and process massive datasets efficiently.
• Manage SQL/NoSQL databases for analytics and operational purposes.
• Develop and maintain optimized data models to support BI, AI, and ML applications.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to define data requirements.
• Enforce data governance, lineage tracking, and quality checks.
• Lead and guide junior engineers in building robust data solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2-5 years in data engineering with cloud-native solutions.
• Proficiency in dbt, Python, SQL, and one JVM language (Java/Scala).
• Hands-on experience with Kafka (or similar event streaming) and Spark or Flink.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD automations.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
