The Role: Sourcing Associate
The Sourcing Associate will support Datavant’s strategic sourcing and vendor management activities across key spend categories, including but not limited to: Technology, Professional Services, and Contract Labor. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, and partnering closely with the Sourcing Manager, this role will contribute to the execution of sourcing initiatives, supplier management activities, and data-driven insights that support Datavant’s cost, risk, and performance objectives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a strategic sourcing organization in a fast-paced, high-growth, and data-driven environment.
What You Will Do
- Sourcing & Category Support: Support the execution of category strategies and sourcing initiatives across Technology, Contract Labor, and Professional Services. Assist with market research, supplier identification, and preparation of sourcing recommendations.
- Sourcing & Negotiation: Support RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ), supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery outcomes.
- Contracting & Renewal Support: Coordinate with Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to support contract reviews, approvals, and documentation. Track contract expirations and renewals, ensuring timely renewals or initiation of competitive sourcing events.
- Spend Analysis & Reporting: Analyze spend data to support opportunity identification, savings tracking, and performance measurement. Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate sourcing activity, savings, and insights to internal stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and business teams to gather requirements, support sourcing projects, and ensure alignment with company priorities.
- Process Improvement: Support opportunities to streamline the Source-to-Pay process, increase automation, and enhance sourcing efficiency through tools like Coupa and data-driven insights.
- Risk & Compliance: Support compliance with sourcing policies, vendor due diligence requirements, and financial controls. Proactively identify and mitigate sourcing-related risks. Escalate potential risks or issues to the Sourcing Manager or Senior Manager as appropriate.
Experience
What you will bring to the table: 2–4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, ideally within a technology or high-growth organization.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with procurement technologies (Coupa experience strongly preferred).
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with spend analytics tools.

Compensation
The estimated total cash compensation range for this role is $77,000—$90,000 USD, with individual rates differing based on level, responsibilities, skills, and experience.
