About the Role: Project Manager

As a Project Manager within the Data Management Business Unit at Datavail, you will spearhead AI, Data & Analytics, Data Governance, Master Data Management, and similar consultancy projects for key strategic clients. Your primary focus will be on ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining project health across various metrics, and identifying opportunities for additional work. You will collaborate closely with technical delivery and account management teams to achieve these goals.

Key responsibilities include developing integrated project plans and serving as the primary customer contact for projects. You will be instrumental in establishing, monitoring, and integrating projects, using various analyses, performance measures, and risk assessments to manage implementations and recommend necessary changes. The role also involves negotiating program and project changes, incorporating them into formal change processes to maintain statements of work, cost, and schedule baselines. You will lead and direct remote or on-site project teams, focusing on the delivery of solutions within Datavail's Data Management and Database business units.

Candidates should possess working knowledge of delivering client solutions using technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure AI capabilities, Amazon Web Services AI capabilities, and various Master Data Management products. Familiarity with project delivery in both Waterfall and Agile lifecycles, and proficiency with tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Project, are essential. Demonstrated success in transforming complex business challenges into effective business and technical solutions that deliver significant business value to strategic clients is a must.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for managing cross-functional projects for clients.
• Oversee project budget and drive course corrections to maintain it within control.
• Able to organize internal business groups to manage and implement projects to scope while managing customer expectations.
• Simultaneously manage a portfolio of unrelated projects and provide transparency into progress to clients and Datavail management.
• Can tailor a project management approach to the type/size of project using various techniques including Agile and Waterfall.
• Develop an integrated schedule including critical path and ensure assigned resources are executing as planned.
• Must have the ability to multitask and enhance a team environment.
• Monitor, track, and control change to the projects through formal change control management of requirements, configuration, performance measures, cost, schedule, program organization structure, and technology environment (release schedules, infrastructure changes, etc.).
• Contribute to Datavail PMO standards, processes, and tools to enable continuous improvement across the entire portfolio and PMO team.

Education/Experience

• 7 or more years Project/Program Management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 4 years managing data and analytics projects within a cloud or on-prem environment.
• Must have experience and be adept at leading globally sourced project teams as we use a global delivery model.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Technical, or a related field of study.
• 2-3+ years professional services experience leading projects for external or internal customers.
• PMP or Agile implementation methodology experience.

• Hands-on / roll sleeves up work ethic, team player willing to take on work needed for project to succeed, willing to go beyond the project management role if needed (help create documents, presentations, etc.).
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to interface and report status with client leadership (Director level or higher).
• Experience successfully managing implementation projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage (lead and direct) and execute projects through application of best practices.
• Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
• Develops solutions to unique challenges that may serve as precedent for future decisions.
• Decision-making that has positively affected the financial posture of the company.
• Able to lead projects from a position of experience and drive successful outcomes.
• Excellent customer communication skills.
• Waterfall & Agile project methodology experience required.
