The Mission

At Dataleaps, as a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and ship reusable domain data products. Instead of one-off, point-to-point data feeds, you will create robust, versioned data products with 40+ fields that serve current and future needs across teams and domains.

Tech Stack You'll Use

  • Python for building APIs and data services
  • Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
  • Cloud Platforms - GCP preferred (Cloud Run, BigQuery); AWS or Azure experience also welcome
  • dbt for data modeling and transformation
  • Apigee or equivalent for API management and monitoring
  • ETL/ELT pipelines for orchestration and testing
  • CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Bitbucket Pipelines
  • Networking for secure service-to-service communication

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full lifecycle of data products: ingest, transform, store and serve via APIs
  • Translate business needs into robust data contracts with proper schemas and versioning
  • Design for scale and reuse, replacing brittle, ad-hoc solutions
  • Expose and secure data via APIs with appropriate access controls
  • Automate infrastructure using Terraform and containerize services
  • Collaborate with analysts, product managers, and engineers; lead technical discussions and mentor colleagues

Must-Haves & Nice-to-Haves

5+ years of experience in building end-to-end data products, strong expertise in Python and cloud data warehouses (preferably BigQuery), experience with dbt, API design and data modeling. Nice-to-have skills include experience with Apigee, Terraform modules, serverless containers, observability, security, and complex data modeling.
