Datadog is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our Technical Writing & Documentation team, focusing on creating engaging and informative public product documentation for Datadog Docs. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to produce high-quality technical content for APIs, SDKs, developer and security tools, and community integrations, contributing to thousands of pages of documentation.

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with product and engineering teams to manage documentation projects and create public user documentation for observability and automation products.
• Gather technical details for public documentation by reviewing internal product materials and hands-on testing of products.
• Create developer-facing documentation and guides for Datadog SDKs, APIs, and developer tools to enable the developer community to onboard and succeed with our products.
• Collaborate with the documentation team to help maintain documentation standards and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
• Participate in a business-hours interrupt-handling rotation to respond to documentation questions, requests, and issues.
• Review and provide editorial feedback on documentation written by others to help maintain quality and consistency.

Who You Are:

• A technical writer with at least 3 years of relevant experience writing developer documentation.
• Experienced in using Markdown, a static-site generator, and Github with a ‘Docs as Code’ approach.
• Comfortable reading and understanding code in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Ruby, Python).
• Familiar with modern infrastructure concepts like cloud services and containers.
• Possess publicly available technical writing samples.
• Experienced writing documentation for complex platforms with multiple developer interaction points (UI, APIs, workflows).
• Experience using AI tools in documentation work.

The estimated yearly salary range for this role at Datadog is $125,000—$155,000 USD.
