About the Role
As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer on a feature team at Datadog, you will be responsible for building an intuitive, responsive product that helps thousands of customers monitor their systems' health and performance at scale. You will utilize tools like React and Typescript to streamline data flow, enable seamless view transitions, and construct a powerful yet user-friendly platform. You'll tackle complex frontend challenges, focusing on scalability and performance with large datasets. As your users are also developers, you'll have a direct impact on the developer community. Join a front-end community of over 200 engineers and work alongside experts to build the next generation of high-scale, data-powered features. - Work closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to inform/refine/validate design concepts.
- Break down complex features into distributable engineering tasks and rollout plans.
- Design and deliver features that have a direct impact on thousands of users.
- Experiment with and advocate for new systems, design patterns, and tooling.
- Participate in hackathons, sync with other Frontend engineers at monthly demos, and attend the yearly Front End summit.
- Use and contribute to a best-in-class in-house design system.
- Own meaningful parts of our service, improve performance, and address scalability limits.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment that values diversity, product excellence, and exciting engineering challenges at scale.
Who You Are
- Experienced in designing and engineering UIs for several years.
- Master of the Javascript ecosystem and aware of the latest frontend technology trends.
- Proficient in using design patterns to create simple, reusable components for complex UIs.
- Familiar with data structures and algorithms, profiling, and optimization.
- Value code simplicity, performance, and attention to detail.
- Excited about leveraging AI tools to enhance coding, problem-solving, and building, or eager to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in daily workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.
- Bonus: Motivated to push the boundaries of AI in software engineering and contribute to AI-enabled products.
