Job Description

About the Role

Datadog is looking for a Product Designer II to join the Shared Capabilities team within our Security Platform. This team builds foundational features used across multiple security products, including the security inbox, bi-directional syncing with Datadog’s ticketing system, and automations.

This role is highly cross-functional and cross-team by nature. You’ll work across multiple product teams to design shared capabilities that feel cohesive, scalable, and intuitive. The ideal candidate has a strong UI background, excels at stakeholder management, and can think systematically, bringing consistency to security components and patterns across the platform.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What you’ll do

  • Design shared, platform-level features that support multiple security teams and workflows across Datadog.
  • Collaborate across multiple product teams, aligning on requirements while balancing diverse needs and priorities.
  • Drive consistency and system-level thinking by defining, refining, and applying reusable security components and patterns.
  • Own the end-to-end design process, from early exploration and wireframes to high-fidelity UI and final implementation.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders (product, engineering, security, and platform teams) to shape direction, manage trade-offs, and build alignment.
  • Champion UI quality and usability, ensuring designs are polished, accessible, and scalable.
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems, especially as they relate to shared security patterns and components.
  • Iterate based on feedback, usability testing, and real-world usage, continuously improving the experience.

Who you are

  • 3+ years of product design experience, ideally on complex or enterprise products.
  • Strong UI design skills, with an eye for detail, hierarchy, and consistency across surfaces.
  • Systemic thinking — ability to zoom out, identify patterns, and design solutions that work across teams and products.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, influence decisions, and navigate competing priorities.
  • Experience working across multiple teams, especially in platform or shared-capability environments.
  • Comfort owning ambiguous problem spaces and bringing clarity through design.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma).

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
