Open Source Program Developer at Datadog

As a member of the Open Source Program Office (OSPO), you will play a crucial role in developing tools, documentation, and policies to enhance engineer interaction with both internal and third-party open source projects, while also representing Datadog within open source communities.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain tools that facilitate the building and releasing of Open Source software at Datadog.
- Develop and maintain tools to streamline the ingestion of Open Source software into Datadog.
- Create developer-facing documentation and training materials for contributing to and maintaining open source projects.
- Engage with open source communities to identify market problems and emerging trends.
- Develop tools for automated analysis and reporting of Open Source repository trends and statistics.
- Liaise with Datadog Open Source Partners, candidates, and recipients to select new projects and ensure program relevance.
- Research and create content for the Datadog Open Source Hub.
- Contribute to product development through feedback (bug reports, feature suggestions), documentation, or code contributions.
Who You Are:
- Possess approximately 3+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or similar practitioner.
- Fluent in reading and writing one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, C#, or Rust.
- Passionate about building tools that enhance engineer productivity.
- Exhibit strong empathy, collaboration, and communication skills to foster relationships across teams.
- Bonus: Active involvement in an open source community.
- Bonus: Familiarity with various Open Source licenses and Contributor License Agreements.
