Solutions Architect, Strategic Retail - Central

We are looking for experienced pre-sales professionals with a proven track record of helping large enterprises become more data-driven. Working with the Account Executive (AE), the Strategic Retail SA defines and directs the technical strategy for our largest and most important accounts, leading to more widespread use of our products and wider and deeper adoption of ML & AI. You will lean upon your solid background in value selling, technical account management, and technical leadership to maximize success in these accounts. While you work with a team that includes hands-on resources who will build proofs of concept and demonstrate Databricks' products, you need to be technical and must understand the relevance and application of ML & AI within a range of use cases important to the target strategic accounts in the Retail space. The Impact You Will Have
- Develop and implement account technical strategies in partnership with Account Executive(s) in your designated strategic account(s), aligned to account growth goals.
- Build technical champions within the account(s) to influence key technical decisions shaping the industry.
- Influence stakeholders at all levels through complex engagements with the wider cloud ecosystem and 3rd party applications, ensuring they are excited by the Databricks vision and solution strategy.
- Operate as an expert solution architect and trusted advisor for significant data analytics architecture, design, and adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
- Contribute to Databricks' technical community engagement by developing customer-facing collateral and leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.

What We Look For
- 8+ years of customer-facing technical experience working in very large (> $3M-5M++ ARR) customers, preferably in pre-sales capacity.
- Deep Technical expertise in key areas such as big data, data science, data engineering, data-warehousing, and cloud technologies.
- An ability in data-driven business transformation and driving change with data, through AI-first and Builder mindset approach.
- 3+ years of experience with design and implementation experience in big data technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, and OLAP or full lifecycle data science solutions.
- Hands-on expertise with complex proofs-of-concept and public cloud platform(s).
- Experience in a core programming language (i.e., Python, Java, Scala) and willingness to learn Spark.
- Know how to architect complex technical solutions for specialized customer needs and navigate a competitive landscape.
- Can travel up to 30% when needed.
- Nice to have: Databricks Certification.

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
