About the Digital Designer Role at DataAnnotation
We are seeking a talented Digital Designer to contribute to the training and improvement of cutting-edge AI models. In this role, you will assess and enhance how AI systems comprehend, generate, and evaluate various aspects of design work, including user interfaces, layouts, visual elements, and overall user experiences.
Utilizing your strong design expertise, you will be responsible for evaluating AI outputs, providing detailed and constructive feedback, and assisting in refining the model’s understanding of aesthetics, usability, and creative quality. Your valuable insights will play a direct role in shaping the development of the next generation of AI tools designed to support designers.
This is an exciting and expanding area for DataAnnotation, focused on teaching AI to better grasp visual and design principles. Initially, designers should apply through our general core assessment, followed by a specific qualification for Web & UI/UX Design. Once approved, you will gain access to both general AI training projects and exclusive invitations to contribute to design-specific projects. These specialized projects delve into areas such as UI/UX critique, product visuals, and aesthetic evaluation, including presentations and various creative deliverables.

- General AI training projects begin at $20+ USD/hr.
- Design-focused projects start at $40+ USD/hr, with additional bonuses for exceptional work.
Responsibilities of a Digital Designer
- Review and provide critiques on AI-generated UI/UX designs, mockups, and various visuals.
- Evaluate the quality of outputs produced by AI models for correctness and performance.
- Help train AI models to develop a better understanding of aesthetic quality and user-centered design principles.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) is essential.
- A strong background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of visual hierarchy, interaction design, and user flow.
- Excellent command of grammar, style, and brand voice.
- A current, in-progress, or completed Bachelor's degree is preferred but not strictly required.
Note: Payment is processed via PayPal. DataAnnotation will never request any money from you. PayPal will manage any necessary currency conversions from USD. This is an independent contract position. Only applicants located in Canada will be considered for this role.
