About The Team
The Ordering team is responsible for building and maintaining best-in-class dental ordering systems. Our team has built several desktop and web applications to streamline the process of ordering a wide variety of restoratives, implants and removables. By bringing a user-centric approach to our software development process we have created seamless customer experiences.
In its first few years of existence our software has already facilitated millions of orders and our volume is continuing to grow each year. This team will support Dandy’s mission to become the essential partner for dental groups by allowing them simple and intuitive ways to sends us all of their cases, simple or complex.
What You’ll Do as an Engineering Manager - Ordering
- Lead a strong full stack engineering team, fostering a high-performance, high-trust culture.
- Drive execution across the stack — from early scoping to production reliability.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Operations to define and deliver roadmap priorities.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions and help your team balance speed, quality, and maintainability.
- Own delivery, accountability, and operational excellence for your team’s systems.
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor engineers to build a cohesive and inclusive team.
- Drive career development and performance management for your reports.
- Help define and evolve Dandy’s engineering practices, architecture, and culture.
- Contribute changes to our software as an engineer, shipping changes alongside the engineers.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years experience as an engineering manager and 5+ years as a software engineer.
- Proven success leading a team through rapid growth, ideally in a startup or high-scale environment.
- Have a proven ability to set and execute a strategic vision, especially in dynamic environments with competing priorities.
- Ability to deeply understand and challenge technical decisions while trusting your team.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across functions.
- Track record of shipping product in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Empathy for users, a product sense for what matters, and a bias toward action.
- Experience with modern web development technologies (React, GraphQL, Typescript, Python, etc.).
