Overview
The Office Support Part-Time Clerk II role at Dallas County involves performing a variety of moderately complex support tasks. These include inputting, processing and distributing documents and records, filing and maintaining data, and reconciling various information. You will work within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures under moderate supervision.
Responsibilities
- Receive, prepare, verify and process documents, instruments, records, bills, payments and receipts.
- Input data to complete routine correspondence, forms, reports and documents.
- Research, locate, pull and prepare documents, records and other assigned data.
- Answer routine inquiries and resolve basic customer service issues.
- Collect, input, update and reconcile data, funds or inventory.
- Maintain filing and storage of documents and supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED is required. Two years of job-related experience or 30 hours of college, or a combination, is needed. Experience in a customer service environment is a plus.
Special Requirements & Skills
Ability to type at least 30 wpm (or 60 kspm) and knowledge of computer applications including standard word processing software. Candidates will be required to pass one or more skills tests which may include 10-key, data entry, filing, grammar, math, MS Excel, MS Word, proofreading, spelling, sorting, and timed typing.

This position is within the Juvenile Department, requiring a high tolerance for working in an emotionally demanding and stressful environment due to interactions with juveniles with challenging behaviors.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
May require prolonged sitting, standing, or walking and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
