Internal Auditor

Dallas County is seeking an Internal Auditor to perform limited fiscal and contractual audits of various county departments and grants.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze budgets, expenditures, and revenues for proper posting.
  • Review and audit transactions, budgets, records, and accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, grantor, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare work papers, reports on audit findings, and fiscal information.
  • Perform account reconciliation and maintain financial data on computer systems.
  • Assist departments with interim/annual financial statement preparation.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field, plus one year work-related experience.

Special Requirements / Skills

  • Skilled in standard software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record and 10-year driving history.
